SME Powered Services has embarked on a significant refurbishment of the iconic Customs House at Melbourne Airport for Australia Pacific Airports Melbourne (APAM). This comprehensive project transforms the three-story building into a modern, sustainable facility while preserving its historic significance.

Along with an extensive refurbishment of the building to enhance operational efficiency and user experience, there will be a complete overhaul of the building services including upgrading HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems with the latest sustainable technologies.

Upon completion, Customs House will emerge as a state-of-the-art facility, balancing heritage with modern innovation to provide an efficient and contemporary workspace.

As part of this project, SME Powered Services will deliver a complete refurbishment of the electrical system including:

  • New standby generator including remote fuelling facilities
  • Main switchboard & consumer mains cabling
  • Power factor correction
  • UPS systems
  • Server room fit out
  • Design & construct project/contract
  • Inground services – lighting mains cabling, etc.
  • Complete internal lighting, power & communications fit out
  • ICT network(s) cabling including CommScope copper & fibre cabling
  • 25-year vendor-certified installation
  • Security and sub-system cabling
  • 5-month construction program (quick turnaround)
